Shape an abstract into a visual story

ExplainViz Visual Brief Builder is a lightweight Chrome extension for researchers. Paste an abstract or research summary, and it organizes the text into four editable stages: Problem, Method, Finding, and Impact.

The extension is a drafting aid. Review every statement and relationship before using the brief in a paper, presentation, or publication.

How to use it

  1. Open the extension from the Chrome toolbar.
  2. Paste your abstract or a short research summary.
  3. Select Build visual brief.
  4. Edit the four stages until they match your study.
  5. Copy the brief or continue in the Graphical Abstract Maker.

No ExplainViz account is required to build or copy a brief. Website features may have their own account and usage requirements.

Extension privacy

Your pasted research text is processed entirely inside the extension popup. The extension does not transmit, upload, store, sync, sell, or analyze that text remotely. Closing the popup discards it.

The extension requests no Chrome permissions and uses no analytics, advertising, background scripts, content scripts, or remote executable code. Clipboard writing happens only when you select Copy brief. Opening ExplainViz creates a new browser tab only after you select the website action.

Data retention

The extension has no database and does not use browser storage. It retains no abstract, generated stage, account identifier, browsing history, or usage event.

Support

For help, open ExplainViz and use the support option available after signing in. Include the extension version, your Chrome version, and a description of what happened. Do not include confidential or unpublished research text in a support request unless you intend to share it.
